PROF. JOHN KURAKAR

John Kurakar is a URI Global Council Trustee and has been for the last 3 years. He is also State president of Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy, Literary and Educational organization and the president of Kerala Palliative care initiative, president of the Edan Nagar residents Association, President of the Kurakaran Valiyaveettil Kudumbayogam, president of the Global Thinkers Forum etc. He was formerly the General Secretary of the Alumni Association of St.Gregorios College,Kottarakara, Programme coordinator of the National Service Scheme, Adult and Continuing Education Programme, Population Education Prograame of the Kerala University. He served more than ten years in Kerala Shastra Sahgithya Prishathu as state level Education Programme convenor and Editorial Board member of the Sashtra Keralam, Grama sashtram and Sashtragathi. Mr. Kurakar wrote many books and articles. Upanyasa manjari, Bhashabhushanam, Bhasha sodini, Kerala history, Window of Knowledge, quiz quiz are his important books. More than sixteen thousand (16,000) articles posted in “Window of Knowledge” his own website.He owns his home and lives at, Darsana, Kurakar Garden's, Karickom, Kottarakara, Kerala, India. He also has property in Kottarakara Thaluk, Malila Village. He is a Professor (rtd) at St. Gregorios College, in Kottarakara. He has been married for many years to Molly Jacob, also a professor at St. Gregorios College. He has a daughter, Dr. Manju Kurakar age 32, who is an Assistant Professor, Medical College, in Pune and a son, Manu Kurakar, age 28, who is an Assistant Manager at Systems, SBI, in Bombay. He also has a 2 year old granddaughter, named Jess Mary. F

Kerala Printers Association Regional meeting was held on 11^th June, 2017 at Kottarakara. Prof. John Kurakar inaugurated the conference. Mr. Sivakumar, Manager, smallscale industry office, Kollam was the chief guest. Prof. John Kurakar distributed the Merit award to Mr. Bevin Joseph, (CBSE +2 Full A+) and Mr. Sivakumar distributed awards to Aswathy Babu (SSLC Full A+) Mekhala President Y.Kunjachen and Secretary Lithin Chaithram.

അതിവേഗം മാറ്റങ്ങൾക്കു വിധേയമായികോ ണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു മേഖലയാണ് പ്രിൻറിംഗ് രംഗം ..കംപ്യൂട്ടർകളു ടെയും വിവര സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യയുടെയും വരവോടെ അച്ചടിമേഖലയിൽ അത്ഭുതകരമായ മാറ്റങ്ങളാണ് ഉണ്ടായിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് .കേരളത്തിൽ അച്ചടി വിദ്യ എത്തുന്നത് പതിനാറാംനൂറ്റാണ്ടിലാണ് .ബെഞ്ചമിൻ ബെയ്‌ലി കോട്ടയത്ത് പ്രസ് ആരംഭിച്ചതോടെ കേരളത്തിൽ അച്ചടിയുടെ തുടക്കമായി .വിവര വിനിമയ സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ മാറുന്നതനുസരിച്ച് മാനുഷ്യനും സമൂഹവും ആശയവിനിമയം ചെയ്യുന്ന രീതിക്ക് മാറ്റം വന്നു. ഗുട്ടൻബെർഗ്ഗ് അച്ചടിവിദ്യകണ്ടുപിടിച്ചതോടെ ലോകഗതിതന്നെമാറ്റിമറിച്ചു .അച്ചടിച്ച പുസ്തകങ്ങളിലൂടെ ശാസ്ത്രവും സമൂഹവും മാത്രമല്ല .ഭരണസംവിധാനങ്ങളെയും അധികാരസ്ഥാനങ്ങളേയും വരെ മാറ്റിമറിച്ചു .സാങ്കേതിക പുരോഗതി അച്ചടിമേഖലയിൽ വിപ്ലവ കരമായ മാറ്റങ്ങളാണ് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത് .

സാധാരണ അച്ചടിയിൽ നിന്ന് ഓഫ്‌സെറ്റിലേക്കും അതിൽ നിന്നും ഡി.റ്റി.പി ഡിജിറ്റലിലേക്കും പ്രിൻറിംഗ് ടെക്നോളജി വളർന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞു .ഒരുകാലത്ത് അച്ചടിമേഖലയിൽ കൂടുതൽ കായികാധ്വാനം വേണ്ടിവന്നിരുന്നു .കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ, വിവരസാങ്കേതിയകവിദ്യ ,ഇലക്ട്രോണിക് ആധിപത്യം അച്ചടി അനായാസമാക്കി .രാജ്യത്തിനകത്തും പുറത്തും തൊഴിൽ സാധ്യതകൾ ഏറിവരുന്ന മേഖലയാണ് പ്രിന്റിങ് മേഖല.വൻകിട പ്രസ്സുകളുടെ ആവിർഭാവത്തോടെ ചെറുകിടപ്രസ്സുകൾക്കു പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ പ്രയാസം ഏറിവരികയാണ്‌.പലതും ഇന്ന് നഷ്‌ടത്തിലാണ് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത് .പ്രതിസന്ധി തരണം ചെയ്യാൻ തൊഴിലാളികളുടെ എണ്ണം കുറയ്‌ക്കേണ്ടിവരുന്നു .നാട്ടിലെ അച്ചടിജോലികളിൽ അറുപതുശതമാനത്തിലധികം മറ്റ് സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്കാണ് പോകുന്നത് .അസംസ്ക്രതവസ്തുക്കളുടെ വസ്തുക്കളുടെ തുടരെതുടരെയുള്ള വിലവർദ്ധനവ് ചെറുകിട പ്രസ്സുടമകളെ സാരമായി ബാധിക്കുന്നു .ചെയ്യുന്ന ജോലിക്കു ന്യായമായ വിലവാങ്ങുവാൻ വർക്കിനുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള പരക്കംപാച്ചിൽ കാരണം കഴിയുന്നില്ല .

ഈ അവസരത്തിലാണ് പ്രിൻറിംഗ് അസ്സോസിയേഷൻറെ പ്രസക്തി .പ്രസ്സുടമകൾ പരസ്‌പര ഐക്യത്തോടെ ,സഹകരണത്തോടെ ,ഒരു സമൂഹമായി , ഒരു കൂട്ടമായി,ഒരു കുടുംബമായി ,ഒരേ വികാരമായി തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ മത്സരിക്കാതെ മുന്നേറണം .പ്രസ്സുകൾക്ക് നേതൃത്വം നൽകാൻ അസോസിയേഷനു കഴിയണം.യോഗത്തിൽജില്ലാവ്യവസായകേന്ദ്രം മാനേജർ കെ എസ് ശിവകുമാർ മുഖ്യപ്രഭാഷണം നടത്തി .വൈ .കുഞ്ഞച്ചൻ ,വൈ .കുഞ്ഞുമോൻ ,ലിതിൻ ചൈത്രം ബാജിജയൻ ,എം .ജെ ജേക്കബ് ,ഷാജി ബാഹുലേയൻ ,ഇന്ദുലാൽ ,ആർ.സി പ്രദീപ് ,സി .രാധാകൃഷ്ണപിള്ള ,ജി പത്മപാദൻ ,പി .എൻ ഉണ്ണികൃഷ്ണൻ നായർ ,എൻ .ജി സോമരാജൻ ,ഹരികിരൺ ദിലീപ് ,പി നിഷ്കളങ്കൻ ,എൻ ഗോപാലകൃഷ്‌ണപിള്ള ,സെബിമാത്യു എന്നിവർ സംസാരിച്ചു .ഉന്നതവിജയം കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയ കുട്ടികൾക്കുള്ള അവാർഡുകൾ പ്രൊഫ്. ജോൺ കുരാക്കാർ വിതരണം ചെയ്തു.
